Alloy Robotics
San Francisco, California, US
Alloy Robotics builds a data platform that captures, standardizes and analyzes robotics fleet mission data to surface failures, diagnose root causes and track fleet performance.
Alloy Robotics builds the data infrastructure beneath a category that generates information faster than most teams can use it. Its platform, Alloy, captures mission data off robots, standardizes it, and analyses it at fleet scale - surfacing failures, diagnosing root causes, generating reports, and tracking performance across every machine a customer operates. The problem is not trivial: advanced robots produce terabytes of data per mission, and the alternative is engineers writing bespoke data-processing scripts instead of improving the robots themselves.
The company's reach is unusually broad for a firm of its stage, serving robotics companies across defence, medical, agriculture, consumer, marine and maritime, warehouse and humanoid, and autonomous-vehicle applications. It has raised $16m and ships product weekly. Technical work spans robotics data infrastructure, sensor data processing, machine-learning pipelines, autonomous systems, failure diagnosis, and data standardisation and search.
Operating from Sydney and now hiring its first roles in San Francisco to sit closer to US customers, Alloy is an early-stage company in which each person owns entire problems rather than tickets. The working style is deliberately intense and direct: engineers talk to frustrated customers on Tuesday and ship fixes by Friday; rough solutions are preferred over polished ones that arrive late; code that solves a problem today is valued above perfect code shipping next month. Communication is async-first, unnecessary work is deleted rather than maintained, and being wrong quickly is preferred to being right slowly. The team favours in-person work in Sydney, with remote possible.
