AviaryAI builds generative AI voice and SMS agents that run outbound member and customer communications for credit unions, community banks and insurers.
Aviari builds generative AI voice and SMS agents for credit unions, community banks and insurance providers, handling outbound member and customer communications at the institutions least able to build such technology themselves. Founded in 2022 and structured as a CUSO - with credit unions among its owners, investors and customers - the company's agents already run millions of calls with real members on the other end, performing onboarding, card activation, dormancy reactivation, early collections and loan servicing. Its customers include institutions of some 200 staff competing against banks with hundreds of times their technology budget.
The forward deployed model sits at the centre of the work. Engineers are placed inside live customer deployments, configuring real workflows rather than building in abstraction; every employee speaks to customers regardless of title. The technical demands are correspondingly sharp: real-time voice latency, conversational and SMS agents built on the same generative model, human-in-the-loop handoff, and - critically in a regulated industry - auditability engineered in from the outset, with agents on recorded calls treated as compliance events and security reviews conducted before any call goes live. Risk committees take part in product decisions.
Operations, sales and forward deployed engineering are based in Chicago; platform engineering in New York. The roles are in-person, not remote. Full-time employees receive equity alongside medical, dental and vision coverage, a 401(k), an in-office meal stipend, unlimited PTO and parental leave.
