Munich-based startup building AI-learning systems that make industrial robots adaptable enough for economical batch-size-1 manufacturing, particularly in surface treatment.
Batch Robotics is a Munich-based AI-robotics startup tackling one of industrial automation's harder problems: making robots economical at the smallest possible volumes. Its AI-learning systems combine smart perception and AI intelligence to give industrial robots the adaptability required for small batch and batch-size-1 production, with particular application in surface treatment. The stated goal is to make batch-size-1 automation economically viable - a standard of flexibility that conventional robot programming does not reach.
The technical work spans reinforcement learning, motion planning, smart perception, autonomous robots and AI-driven robotic systems applied to industrial robot automation. The company serves manufacturing and surface treatment contexts across Germany and Europe, and is headquartered at Munich Urban CoLab, in the centre of Germany's robotics and AI cluster.
The team brings experience from Magazino, Fraunhofer, TUM and CDTM, with expertise in autonomous robots, reinforcement learning, motion planning and AI-robotics research. Batch Robotics operates as a GbR.
