DeployCo

DeployCo deploys AI systems inside large enterprises, working directly with customers through Forward Deployed Engineering to solve specific problems and scale validated results.

DeployCo, described as The OpenAI Deployment Company, addresses the gap between advancing AI model capabilities and their real-world use inside large enterprises. A majority-owned subsidiary of OpenAI launched in May 2026, it was founded through the strategic acquisition of Tomoro, a London-based AI consulting and engineering firm, bringing in approximately 150 specialists. The company has raised $4 billion, with backing from a coalition of major investment firms including TPG, Advent International, Bain Capital and Brookfield.

Central to the work is Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE), an engagement approach in which teams work directly with customers to solve specific problems, validate impact and identify patterns that scale across organisations. Rather than beginning with a general product, teams partner with domain experts to build AI systems that function in real-world environments. The discipline spans AI deployment, AI systems engineering, enterprise AI transformation and scaled services delivery.

The results of this approach are measurable. A deployment at BBVA reached 120,000 employees across 25 countries. Work with John Deere in agriculture and heavy equipment yielded a 70% reduction in chemical usage and a sixfold increase in customer engagement. The company operates across financial services, agriculture and cross-industry enterprise transformation, with a footprint spanning the UK, Spain, the United States and, through the BBVA deployment, 25 countries.
