madewithlove BV

madewithlove BV is a remote-first technical partner agency founded in 2008, now in its sixteenth year of operation. The firm places experienced CTOs, staff engineers, and technical leaders inside client organisations to strengthen legacy codebases, design scalable architecture, and raise the standard of engineering teams. Its work spans software engineering, legacy code modernisation, technical due diligence, architecture design, and coaching of internal technical leadership.

Four services form the core of the practice. CTO in Residence and CTO Coaching embed seasoned technical leaders to guide companies and mentor their teams. Technical Due Diligence provides independent, objective assessments for investors seeking to de-risk acquisitions. Legacy Code Enhancement improves existing codebases and builds scalable architecture from the ground up. Anonymous Technical Reviews deliver quality-focused evaluations designed to minimise bias. The stated emphasis is on sustainable success rather than simply shipping features.

The company operates from Leuven, Belgium, where it was founded in a small living room, but its talent is distributed across at least nine countries, among them Belgium, France, South Africa, Greece, Poland, the United Kingdom, Nigeria, and Syria. Remote-first by design, it offers part-time opportunities and recruits actively from underrepresented spaces.

Engineering culture is codified rather than aspirational: the firm documents everything, challenges assumptions constructively, values diversity of thought, and communicates with unusual candour. Interview guidelines are written to minimise bias, and craftsmanship and human connection are treated as working standards rather than slogans.
