Omakase Robotics

Omakase Robotics, spun out of ZEALS, develops the D1 compact humanoid robot plus in-house manipulation intelligence and orchestration software for hospitals, care facilities, logistics and manufacturing.

Omakase Robotics builds compact humanoid robots for indoor workplaces, an undertaking that has already moved past the demonstrable: its D1 machine has logged 35 hours of field operations in working hospitals and validated five in-hospital workflows. The company began as the robotics division of ZEALS and carries more than a decade of conversational AI expertise into physical systems, targeting hospitals, care facilities, logistics centres, manufacturing sites and commercial spaces across Japan.

Deployment rather than spectacle is the organising principle. The D1 is a near-domestic compact humanoid with a 7-axis arm fitted with torque sensors and brakes, an adjustable elevation axis spanning roughly 1,293-1,593mm, and a 6-wheel, 2-wheel-drive autonomous mobile base carrying LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors and contact detection. Around it sit two components developed in-house: Omakase Zen, the manipulation intelligence foundation, and Omakase OS, the orchestration software that lets robots function in human environments. Hardware, manipulation and orchestration are vertically integrated rather than assembled from third parties.

Technical work spans humanoid robotics, physical AI, robotic manipulation, autonomous mobile robots, LiDAR and sensor fusion, torque sensing and motion control, and robotics orchestration software. The operating culture prizes mass-production discipline - robots that work reliably every day - and validates in real hospital settings before scaling. The stated ambition is to become the world's leading humanoid robotics company, with 2026 framed internally as the year of physical AI.
