Runlayer provides an Enterprise MCP Platform that secures the integration of AI agents into corporate technology stacks. The platform combines threat detection, fine-grained permissions management, and comprehensive observability to create a command-and-control plane for enterprises adopting AI safely across their infrastructure.
The company raised $11 million in seed funding from Khosla Ventures and Felicis, and within four months of launching from stealth secured eight customers including unicorns and public companies: Gusto, dbt Labs, Instacart, and Opendoor. The founding team brings substantial operating experience, with CEO Andrew Berman having previously founded Nanit and Vowel (acquired by Zapier). Co-founders Tal Peretz and Vitor Balocco led AI initiatives at Zapier, and the company benefits from advisory input by David Soria Parra, co-creator of MCP.
The platform addresses a critical gap in enterprise AI adoption: the need to deploy AI agents with security controls and operational visibility. Rather than building point solutions, Runlayer provides the infrastructure layer that enterprises require to govern AI agent access to databases, APIs, and internal systems whilst maintaining complete observability across their AI operations.
