Spherecast

Spherecast, founded in 2017 and backed by Y Combinator, builds an AI-powered supply chain management platform for omni-channel Consumer Packaged Goods brands. Its purpose is to give supply chain leaders a provable, component-level, execution-ready plan - a problem of considerable technical depth, sitting at the intersection of artificial intelligence, supply chain planning, scenario simulation and optimisation. The company operates from San Francisco and Munich.

Two products define the work. The Spherecast platform produces the component-level plans themselves. Agnes, an AI colleague, evaluates thousands of supply chain scenarios in seconds and decides what to produce, where to make it, and how to move goods through factories, warehouses and channels. For engineers, the challenge is one of scale and rigour: search and simulation at a breadth that human planning cannot reach, with output that must hold up under operational scrutiny rather than approximate judgement.

The company was founded by former supply chain industry practitioners, with an origin focused on preventing supply chain crises rather than firefighting them. The stated vision is to make the physical flow of goods as programmable as code - an ambition that implies deep work in optimisation, decision systems and applied AI across manufacturing, logistics and omni-channel retail.
