About the Role
Join an applied AI team building and deploying software solutions across a portfolio of vertical SaaS businesses. As a founding member of the forward deployed engineering function, you will turn complex customer challenges into technical solutions and help shape how the team and its products grow.
What You'll Do
Lead customer discovery and translate business needs into product specifications and AI workflows.
Build solutions from the ground up and own deployments through customer adoption and ongoing maintenance.
Work on-site with customer leaders and teams to deliver technical solutions in complex environments.
Develop shared data models, workflows, and ontologies that can be productized across industry verticals.
Partner with company leadership to define and execute the applied AI strategy, and help establish the forward deployed engineering team.
What We're Looking For
Four to six years of experience in forward deployed engineering or a technical, customer-facing role delivering enterprise B2B software or AI solutions.
Experience owning full technical deployments from initial build through adoption and post-deployment support.
Strong engineering fundamentals, with a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Comfort working across system architecture, data pipelines, full-stack engineering, LLM applications, and AI/ML.
Ability to connect technical implementation with customer business needs; experience in vertical SaaS is valuable.
Willingness to travel about 50% and work on-site with customers for extended periods.
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary is $200,000 to $250,000 annually.
Location
On-site in Chicago, Illinois, five days per week, with approximately 50% customer travel.
